STRUGGLING AS A CHILD:
When I was little, my mom was a single mom. Affording food was often a struggle. My mom used to work at a grocery store to make ends meet. The grocery store would occasionally give her some of the recently-expired food to help her feed my brothers and I. She was so grateful for that kind donation!
STRUGGLING AS AN ADULT:
As an adult and mother of 4, there was a summer when my husband and I were struggling financially and couldn't afford groceries for our own four kids. It was heartbreaking not to be able to afford food for our kids during that time! We felt like failures as parents. Luckily, our church donated groceries to us for a couple months until we were able to get back on our feet.
BE THE CHANGE:
This cause is dear to my heart because we have experienced first-hand the heartache of not being able to afford food. We empathize with families who struggle with this.
